VerbTeX is a free LaTeX Editor for iOS devices. It allows users to create and manage LaTeX projects directly on their iOS device and generate a PDF using Verbosus, an Online LaTeX Editor.

This software is provided "as is" without any warranties or conditions, expressed or implied.

Offline compilation (Local Mode, can be enabled in Settings)
Automatic Dropbox synchronization (Local Mode)
Automatic Box synchronization (Local Mode)
iCloud integration (Local Mode)
Support for PdfTeX or XeTeX for PDF generation

Two Modes: Local (stores .tex documents on the device) and Cloud (synchronizes projects with Verbosus)

File upload, including subfolders (Local Mode)

Two-factor authentication (Cloud Mode, used in combination with Copiosus)

Limitations in the free VerbTeX version:

Max. number of projects (Local Mode): 2
Max. number of documents per project (Local Mode): 2
Max. number of file uploads per project (Local Mode): 4

If you encounter performance issues when loading a project or using the editor, you can try the following:

Disable syntax highlighting and line numbers in Preferences -> Syntax Highlighting
Split your project into multiple .tex files using the \include{} command in LaTeX

Import or export existing projects (Local Mode):

If you want to import or export existing projects, you have two options:

Automatic Dropbox or Box synchronization in Preferences -> Link to Dropbox or Box
Manually copy the font file to the root Documents path via Finder -> Device -> VerbTeX -> Files -> Drag and drop your files. Remember to refresh the project list.

Using custom fonts (Local Mode):

To use a custom font or a font that is not installed, you have two options:

Automatic Dropbox or Box synchronization in Preferences -> Link to Dropbox or Box
Manually copy the font file to the root Documents path via Finder -> Device -> VerbTeX -> Files -> Drag and drop your files.

In your project, you can use the font like this:

You can write Chinese in PdfTeX using the CJKutf8 package:

You can write Chinese in XeTeX using the xeCJK package:

Hotkeys in the editor:

Ctrl + S: Save
Ctrl + G: Generate PDF
Ctrl + N: New document
Ctrl + D: Delete document
Ctrl + B: Switch between bib and tex
Ctrl + . : Next document
